AlayaCare unveils agentic AI roadmap at Better Outcomes Canada 2026, bringing home-based care leaders together in Toronto

At Better Outcomes Canada 2026, Founder and CEO Adrian Schauer presented that, as AI drives clinical knowledge toward zero cost, the value of home-based care is shifting to the frontline caregivers who deliver it — and AlayaCare unveiled new AlayaFlow agentic AI capabilities built to support them

TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AlayaCare, a global leader in home and community care software, welcomed hundreds of home-based care leaders, clinicians, and technology executives to Better Outcomes Canada 2026, its annual user conference, held September 14-15 in Toronto.

From Visits to Outcomes
In his opening keynote, "The Future of Home-Based Care Starts Today," Adrian Schauer, Founder and CEO of AlayaCare, explained that as AI pushes the cost of clinical advice toward zero, the real value in home-based care has always been execution — the caregiver who shows up, builds trust, and catches what a chart can't.

Adrian Schauer explained that as AI takes on more of the administrative and cognitive work behind care delivery, the goal isn't to replace the relationship between caregiver and client, but to protect it. "This isn't AI replacing the relationship," Schauer said. "It's AI clearing everything else out of the way so that relationship can happen more often, more consistently, and with the evidence behind it that gets you that seat."

Schauer positioned home-based care as the connective tissue of the broader health system but cautioned that earning that role requires providers to prove outcomes with evidence, not intentions. He pointed to early proof points already underway on AlayaCare's platform, including Layla, AlayaCare's AI assistant. "What you just saw isn't science fiction. It's happening today. Now is the moment for every home-based care provider to rethink how they deliver care in the AI era," Schauer said in closing.

Introducing AlayaFlow's Expanded Agent Suite
Day two brought a keynote from Andrew McDonald, Chief Product and Technology Officer, unveiling new capabilities across AlayaFlow's five AI agents — Receptionist, Intake, Scheduling, Clinical and Billing — each built to remove the administrative burden out of the care journey. Each agent previewed the addition of new skills, including proactive weekly scheduling and same-day missed visit alerts, new hire availability capture, and care plan attachment support, alongside intake automation tailored to the Canadian market.

"This is not a patchwork of point tools. We built a home-based care operating system on one single platform this entire industry can today run on," said Andrew McDonald, Chief Product and Technology Officer, AlayaCare. "From coast to coast, it is already the operating system for home-based care in this country."

Industry Voices and Community
The agenda also featured a keynote from Elizabeth Keller of Amazon Web Services, a panel on AI and care delivery in Canada with leaders from Paramed and Integracare, and sessions on caregiver retention featuring Caribou and Nevvon. Day one closed with the Better Outcomes Awards and a Networking Reception celebrating AlayaCare's customer community.
